Planning and design of the new reservoir and pump station in the current Ridgewood View Park location is complete. The selected contractor, Stellar J Corporation, started construction in September 2014 and is expected to complete construction and park restoration by summer 2016.

New Ridgewood View Park Reservoir quenching water demand

Up to 8 million gallons of water sits perched above the northbound lanes of Highway 217 just south of the Sunset Highway interchange.

By design, however, this perch is anything but precarious.

The Tualatin Valley Water District is wrapping up construction on the state-of-the-art Ridgewood View Park Reservoir and Pump Station, built to withstand a catastrophic earthquake and keep on delivering drinking water from its hilly neighborhood throughout the sprawling district.

Current Work

Week of August 22, 2016

Work for weeks of 8/22/16, 8/29/16, 9/5/16, and 9/12/16 will include:

  • Reservoir: Crews continue to work on miscellaneous cleanup items on the exterior of the reservoir. Railings and security fencing are being installed. Final finishes on the ADA access ramp and rain gardens on the south side of the reservoir are nearing completion. Railings and guardrail for the ADA ramp are expected to be complete by 9/2/16.
  • Pump Station: Final cleanup work of the interior and exterior, including miscellaneous other items slated for correction, is expected to be complete by 9/12/16.
  • Landscaping / Site work: Paving is expected to be completed on 8/23/16 and 8/24/16. Placement of concrete is complete except for some small appurtenances. Site grading will be completed the week of 8/29/16. Irrigation installation is nearly complete. Site landscaping which includes planting is expected to be done starting 8/24/16. The picnic shelter and playground surfacing are complete.
  • NOTE: The contractor anticipates working on site again the next 2 Saturdays in order to finish up with the site work in a timely manner. Saturday work hours are from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. No work will be done on Labor Day – 9/5/16. Final completion of the project is expected the week of 9/12/16.

Previous Work

Week of July 25, 2016

Work for weeks of 7/25/16, 8/1/16, 8/7/16, and 8/14/16 will include:

  • Reservoir: Crews continue to work on miscellaneous cleanup items on the exterior of the reservoir. Tennis court fencing and green screens are installed. Other railings and security fencing are expected to be done by 8/4/16. Final finishes on the ADA access ramp and rain gardens on the south side of the reservoir are expected to be done by 8/4/16. Railings and guardrail for the ADA ramp are expected to be complete by 8/9/16.
  • Pump Station: Operational testing of the pump station was completed by 7/22/16. Final cleanup work of the interior and exterior, including miscellaneous other items slated for correction, is expected to be complete by 8/1/16.
  • Landscaping / Site work: Site storm drain lines and waterline for the drinking fountain are expected to be complete by 8/1/16. Crews are working to place miscellaneous concrete curbs, sidewalks, and other features on the site. Site grading will be on-going the next couple weeks. Irrigation installation is on-going and expected to be complete by 8/12/16. Site landscaping which includes planting is expected to be done between 8/8/16 and 8/17/16. The picnic shelter is expected to be complete by 7/27/16, and the playground surfacing is expected to be complete by 8/3/16. Asphalt pathways in the park, including the parking lot and other pavement repairs, are expected to be done 8/18/16 and 8/19/16.
  • NOTE: The contractor anticipates working on site again the next 2 Saturdays in order to finish up with the site work in a timely manner. Saturday work hours are from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
