Meetings and Events

Planning and design of the new reservoir and pump station in the current Ridgewood View Park location is complete. The selected contractor, Stellar J Corporation, started construction in September 2014 and is expected to complete construction and park restoration by summer 2016.

Current Work

Week of July 25, 2016

Work for weeks of 7/25/16, 8/1/16, 8/7/16, and 8/14/16 will include:

  • Reservoir: Crews continue to work on miscellaneous cleanup items on the exterior of the reservoir. Tennis court fencing and green screens are installed. Other railings and security fencing are expected to be done by 8/4/16. Final finishes on the ADA access ramp and rain gardens on the south side of the reservoir are expected to be done by 8/4/16. Railings and guardrail for the ADA ramp are expected to be complete by 8/9/16.
  • Pump Station: Operational testing of the pump station was completed by 7/22/16. Final cleanup work of the interior and exterior, including miscellaneous other items slated for correction, is expected to be complete by 8/1/16.
  • Landscaping / Site work: Site storm drain lines and waterline for the drinking fountain are expected to be complete by 8/1/16. Crews are working to place miscellaneous concrete curbs, sidewalks, and other features on the site. Site grading will be on-going the next couple weeks. Irrigation installation is on-going and expected to be complete by 8/12/16. Site landscaping which includes planting is expected to be done between 8/8/16 and 8/17/16. The picnic shelter is expected to be complete by 7/27/16, and the playground surfacing is expected to be complete by 8/3/16. Asphalt pathways in the park, including the parking lot and other pavement repairs, are expected to be done 8/18/16 and 8/19/16.
  • NOTE: The contractor anticipates working on site again the next 2 Saturdays in order to finish up with the site work in a timely manner. Saturday work hours are from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Week of July 18, 2016

Work for weeks of 7/18/16, 7/25/16, and 8/1/16 will include:

  • Reservoir: Crews continue to work on miscellaneous cleanup items on the exterior of the reservoir. Tennis court fencing, green screens and other railings are expected to be done by 8/3/16. Final finishes on the ADA access ramp and rain gardens on the south side of the reservoir are expected to be done by 8/3/16.
  • Pump Station: Testing of the pump station has been on-going and is expected to be complete by 7/22/16. Final cleanup work of the interior and exterior, including miscellaneous other items slated for correction, is expected to be complete by 7/22/16 as well.
  • Pipeline & Utility Work: Utility work is nearly complete. Minor storm water drains are expected to be complete 7/25/16.
  • Landscaping / Site work: Crews are working to place miscellaneous concrete curbs, sidewalks, and other features on the site. Site grading will be on-going the next couple weeks. Irrigation installation is on-going. Site landscaping is expected to be done 8/3/16 to 8/12/16. Asphalt pathways in the park, the picnic shelter, and the playground surfacing are expected to be completed over the next 2-3 weeks.
  • NOTE: The contractor anticipates working on site the next 2 Saturdays in order to finish up with the site work in a timely manner. Saturday work hours are from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Week of June 27, 2016

Work for weeks of 6/27/16, 7/4/16, and 7/11/16 will include:

  • Reservoir: Crews are no longer working on Saturday (6/25/16). The bulk of this work is expected to be complete by 7/5/16. The reservoir is currently being filled with water in anticipation of being online by 7/1/16. Crews will continue to work on miscellaneous items on the exterior of the reservoir including lights. Tennis court fencing, green screens and other railings are expected to be done by 7/8/16. Final finishes on the ADA access ramp and rain gardens on the south side of the reservoir are expected to be done by 7/14/16.
  • Pump Station: Crews are working to complete electrical work, HVAC, and minor mechanical work. Testing of the pump station is expected to begin the week of 7/4/16.
  • Pipeline & Utility Work: Utility work is nearly complete. The storm water piping and drainage swales are anticipated to be done by 7/1/16.
  • Landscaping / Site work: Crews are working to place miscellaneous concrete curbs, sidewalks, and other features on the site. Site grading has begun on the west side of the project moving east. Irrigation installation has begun, and tree and other vegetation planting will occur once irrigation installation is complete. Asphalt pathways in the park, the picnic shelter, and the playground surfacing are expected to be begin the week of 6/27/16. Completion of those items is expected the week of 7/4/16. Site fencing and sidewalks is anticipated to be complete the week of 7/11/16.
  • NOTE: The contractor expects to slurry seal the roadway impacted by the waterline trenching activities. Look for door hangers the week of 6/27/16 which will identify no parking zones for that work activity. This is for SW Ardenwood Street, SW Wilshire, and SW Melnore St. Also, no work will be performed on 7/4/16.

Week of June 13, 2016

Work for weeks of 6/13/16, 6/20/16, 6/27/16 and 7/4/16 will include:

  • Reservoir: Crews intend to work Saturdays (6/18/16, and 6/25/16) in order to complete the ADA access ramp on the south side of the reservoir. Work hours for Saturday work are 8am-4:30pm. The reservoir is expected to be filled with water the week of 6/20/16. Crews will continue to work on miscellaneous items on the exterior of the reservoir, and anticipate the reservoir to be fully functional by 6/29/16. Tennis court fencing, green screens and other railings are expected to be done by 7/8/16.
  • Pump Station: Crews are working to complete painting, electrical work and minor mechanical work. Plumbing work is complete. Electrical testing is expected to be done over the next few weeks, with Portland General Electric (PGE) expected to be on-site to connect building power on 6/23/16. The backup generator is installed and functional.
  • Pipeline & Utility Work: Utility work will continue on-site / within the park and includes construction of storm water piping, and other minor site power conduits.
  • Landscaping / Site work: Crews are working to place miscellaneous concrete curbs, sidewalks, and other features on the site. Site grading has begun on the west side of the project moving east. Installation of the retaining walls, ADA access ramp, and stairs leading up to the reservoir roof is underway, and will continue for several weeks. Tree and other vegetation planting will occur once irrigation is installed on-site. Irrigation installation is expected to begin the week of 6/13/16. Asphalt pathways in the park, the picnic shelter, and the playground surfacing are expected to be done the week of 6/27/16.
